
As a result of a car accident our daughter received a closed-head injury. As part of her therapy we used Vision Therapy to help her regain her eye muscle strength to help her with visual scanning. We were very pleased with the speed of recovery.
Jenae's Parents
Dr. Habermehl graduated from Bentley High school in the class of 1981. He went
to college at Ferris State University and earned his associates degree in 1984.
Following his graduation from Ferris State University, Dr. Habermehl then attended
college at Illinois College of Optometry, and received his Doctor of Optometry
Degree in 1988.
Dr. Habermehl began his own private group general practice in Optometry after he received his Doctor of Optometry degree. This practice was located in Flint, Michigan.
Dr. Habermehl has also been a member of both the Michigan Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association since 1984 (23years). He has also been an active member of the contact lens section of the American Optometric Association since 1988. On October 25, 2003 he was board certified in vision development and therapy by the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.
Bradley served as the Chairman of the Environmental Vision Committee of the Michigan Optometric Association from 1991 – 1992. During 1991-1992, Dr. Habermehl was also the president of the Rotary Club of Burton, Michigan while also serving a term as the Scholarship Chairman for the same club (1991-1994).
Many awards were given to Dr. Habermehl, such as the Rotarian of the Year for 1992-1993. He also won this same award two more times (2000-2001 and 2002-2003).
Governor John Engler appointed Bradley to the Michigan State Board of Examiners in Optometry for a term ending June, 1996. He was also reappointed two times by Engler. Bradley’s term ended in 2004.
Dr. Habermehl also worked with the Michigan State Board of Examiners in Optometry. He was the Vice-chairman from October 1999 to 2002. In 2002 he was appointed the Chairman of the board. He served from October 2002 to 2005.
Dr. Habermehl is currently the President for the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.
Bradley Habermehl was married on July 19, 1986 to Cindy Habermehl. Since then,
they have two children, Chad and Kylee.
Dr. Habermehl also enjoys martial arts. He is a Second Degree Black Belt of
Tang Soo Do-Moo Duk Kwan Karate.
Dr. Visser-Robel
Dr. Visser-Robel received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Ferris
State University in 1994. She also received a bachelors degree of science, vision
science from Ferris State University in 1992.
Dr. Visser-Robel began working in the optometry field in 1993 as an extern at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI. She learned how to perform primary care examinations with concentration on ocular disease as well as how to perform pediatric evaluations.
Dr. Visser-Robel then became an extern at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She performed complete low vision evaluations of visually impaired patients.
Shortly after, Dr. Visser-Robel was an extern at Henry Ford Hospital in Taylor, Michigan. Here, she provided primary care examinations with management and treatment of ocular diseases and refractive disorders. She also performed pediatric examinations with vision therapy and proved complete contact lens evaluations and fittings.
In 1994, Dr. Visser-Robel was an extern at Allen Pak VA Medical Center in Allen Park, MI. Her main duties were to diagnose and manage ocular diseases in patients with multiple medical and psychiatric afflictions. She also performed Kerataconic and irregular cornea contact lens fittings.
Following her externships, she began working as an optometrist in ABBA Eyecare; Colorado Springs, CO. She was employed here from 1994-1995. She then moved back to Michigan and worked at Alpine Eyecare in Gaylord, MI from 1995-2000.
In 2000, Dr. Visser-Robel began her own private practice in Gaylord, Michigan.

Dr. Lee C. Newton
Dr. Newton is a graduate of the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris
State University. He began practicing in Bay City on Center Avenue in 2000.
Since then he has continued to serve Bay City and Bay County with
thorough, high tech eye care in an independent professional setting.
Dr. Newton has dedicated his professional career to vision correction, specialized contact lens fitting, eye health care, and detecting and correcting visual problems in children. An active member of the Michigan and American Optometric Associations, he has donated his time to Infant See, the AOA initiative to provide free eye examinations to infants up to 1 year of age. Dr. Newton is certified in the use of both topical and oral medications for the treatment of eye conditions. He is continually educating himself through professional journals, seminars, and continuing optometric education courses.
Though he grew up near Lapeer, Dr. Newton grew fond of the mid-Michigan area while completing his optometry externships in 1999-2000 and subsequently decided to stay, purchasing an established practice from Dr. Louis Schueneman. Dr. Newton lives with his wife, Mollie, and their two daughters, Anika and Chloe, less than a mile from the office. He enjoys spending time with his family, bicycling, yard work, projects around the house, and playing the saxophone. His biggest "claims to fame" are being the top high school saxophonist in the state of Michigan for two years and competing in the William C. Byrd International Music Competition in 1997, when he was runner-up to the individual who later achieved second place saxophonist in the world.
Dr. Newton's practice philosophy is to treat patients they way anyone would like to be treated, and to provide quality care with the personal attention often missing in today's world.
